How to compress to 100 KB
- Choose your images. You can add several documents at once.
- Keep the target at 100 KB or pick another size.
- Select Compress images and download.
Keeping document text readable
Text needs sharp edges, so for document photos it is better to reduce the dimensions a little than to lower quality a lot. Enter a maximum width of about 1200 pixels: that is enough for an A4 page to stay readable on screen, and it leaves more of the 100 KB for sharpness.
If the portal wants a PDF instead of an image, convert your photos with JPG to PDF, then use compress PDF to 100 KB.
Getting a readable document photo under 100 KB
- Photograph the document flat, in daylight, with the phone held directly above it.
- Crop to the edges of the paper, so no table or background is included.
- Enter a maximum width of 1200 pixels in the compressor; this keeps an A4 page readable on screen.
- Keep the target at 100 KB, or a little below, such as 95 KB, for strict portals.
What fits in 100 KB
| Image | Result at 100 KB |
|---|---|
| One A4 page of printed text | Clearly readable at 1200 px wide |
| ID card front | Sharp, with plenty of room |
| Full-colour certificate with seals | Readable; fine detail softens slightly |
| Profile photo | Sharp at up to about 800 × 800 px |
Troubleshooting
- Small print is blurred: crop tighter or raise the maximum width; a slightly larger image at lower quality reads better than a tiny one.
- The portal needs a PDF: make one with JPG to PDF, then use compress PDF to 100 KB.
Questions
Is anything uploaded?
Your files never leave your device. The conversion runs inside your browser, so nothing is uploaded to a server and there are no daily limits.
My document is unreadable at 100 KB. What can I do?
Crop away the table or background around the document before compressing, and set a maximum width of about 1200 pixels.
Does it work with PNG screenshots?
Yes. They are saved as JPG, which is much smaller for this kind of image.
